It is official!! Our second oldest just passed Hunter's Education and is now legal, prepared, and dying for turkey season to arrive!! Now we have to brag just a little, 'cause that's what proud parents do. He is nine right now and he didn't just pass, he set a standard! The class is usually taken by 12-14 year-olds so we worried a little that he might have a harder time with the classroom material. He got 96% on the written test!! Mom is pretty excited about that; on the other hand, Dad is ecstatic because of his shooting score. He scored 260 out of a possible 300 (perfect score.) His prone (laying down) score was 97 out of 100...a very, very good score for a hunter of any age. Needless to say, there are several perma-smiling people in our household right now.
Turkey season begins in April...let the hunting begin!!
