Day two of Summer Games began bright and early with the three position Small-bore Rifle match.
Day one is always a big day, but day two has a little more time for playing and relaxing.
The three-position math involves shooting prone, standing, and kneeling.
Targets are totaled and then the top shooters are invited to shoot in an all-standing Olympic style shoot-off.
All three of our shooters shot very well and found themselves in the shoot-off!
Our oldest struggled in this match last year, but this year he was really strong!
Cousin Tanner enjoyed his first ever shoot-off, but decided that it is way harder than it looks with all the added pressure.
Our second-oldest enjoyed his second shoot-off!
Meanwhile, the young'uns had fun with friends,
tried to stay cool in the 98 degree heat,
and our daughter went garage sale shopping with my sister and nieces.
It was a great morning. The results from the matches can be found here. Our oldest took gold overall in the 3-position match, with our second oldest taking gold in the Sub-Junior division and Tanner taking gold in the Intermediate Junior division. Our oldest won the Olympic-style Shoot-off.
We spent a delightful afternoon at the Cedar City swimming pool. It felt so good to cool down and we had a great time with all our friends and cousins!
That evening we returned to the range and prepared some dutch-oven deliciousness!
The boys finished sighting in their high-power rifles for the following morning's match and then...
we enjoyed some tasty dinner with our friends.
We have great friends and really enjoyed the four families that stayed with us at the range.
Dutch oven cobbler to end another great day!
