July 28th was the Gold County Swim Meet. All the fastest swimmers in Utah County were invited to Provo for one last meet of the summer.
The boys were excited and a little nervous, but they felt prepared to swim their fastest times ever!
And they did!! They had some tough competition that really pushed them to swim their best.
Our oldest swam his best 100 m backstroke ever, getting a personal record by 5 seconds: 1:29.03. He also won!
Our second oldest also swam very well and took second in his specialty: the 50 m breaststroke in 44.92 seconds.
Our oldest placed third in the 50 m breaststroke in 42.25 seconds.
Our second oldest placed 3rd in the 50 m freestyle in 34.75 seconds.
And he placed 8th in the 50 m backstroke in 46.46 seconds.
Our oldest placed 4th in the 50 m freestyle in 32.01 seconds.
They also had the chance to compete with some teammates on some fast relay teams.
They were on the same relay team for the medley relay.
Awards
They both have decided that they would like to do swim team in high school. It is a lot of hard work, but the meets are a lot of fun and they have made some great friends.
