Birthday Girl

Today I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to my older sister! When we were younger I always wanted to do everything just like she did because I thought she was so cool!

I still think she is COOL!!

Cuteness

Look at what my preschooler made for me for Mother's Day!

He couldn't wait for Sunday for me to open it...he was just so proud of his gift!

He knows I love flowers and I am quite flattered by the portrait...what a fashion-conscious, happy Mom! Sooo cute! It's hanging on my fridge.

The Meet

We spent the day today at the Hershey Track Meet cheering on our fourth grader.






He threw the softball pretty far.








He ran the 50m and the 100m, taking second in both his heats.







As an encore he ran the lead leg of the 4x100m relay. He ran a fast turn and helped his team take third.




We enjoyed watching and cheering, but by the end of the meet we were all pretty tired.

On Time?

Living several states away from my parents means that I cannot procrastinate gift-giving. I have to allow ample time for shipping...which sometimes is unreliable. (Their Christmas present last year made a detour to Kentucky before arriving in Oregon....I know, puzzling! Yes, it was late!!) Planning ahead is a challenge for me because I find it difficult to come up with gift ideas at all, not to mention two weeks in advance! With Mother's Day this weekend I did start planning last week and was able to get my Mom's gift sent off by Tuesday. Hopefully, (crossing my fingers) it will arrive on time. I really hope she likes it...I like it...so much in fact, that I made one for myself too!! Happy Early Mother's Day to me! After she opens it, I'll let you know what it is!

Trophy Collecting

Our little dancer had another dance competition over the weekend.

She did a great job and was happy to find out that her routine earned second place in their division.

She loves the trophies and has informed her Dad that he needs to build her a shelf to hold all of them!

Thankful

I'm having a thankful moment! I know that Thanksgiving is typically the day we reflect and feel thankful, but today I guess I'm feeling rebellious...and thankful too! I feel so incredibly blessed with a wonderful husband, gorgeous, healthy children and I love life! No, it isn't perfect ...I do have some weeds that grow in my flower garden. But, despite the weeds, to me it is beautiful and I am grateful for it!

Jump Rope Champ

Our daughter came home Friday with a trophy....she has several trophies, but this one is one she has been working, planning and hoping for....for quite some time now. The school has a jump-a-thon every year to raise money. Ever since she found out about it, she has been practicing. She practices after school, at recess, and sometimes even in the kitchen. She has gotten quite good at it and apparently all that practice paid off because she won! She is so excited!

Way to go!!!
