Birthday and Ordination

It was a real whirl-wind weekend for us right after Summer Games! The very next day was a very special day in our family because it was the day that our second oldest was ordained a deacon.

He is a real jokester sometimes and he brings lots of joy to our family. He definitely takes after his father!

But he also takes after his Dad in another way! He is sensitive to the Spirit and very tender-hearted. I am so proud of the young man that he is and the Priesthood holder that he is becoming.

It is a real treat to have two honorable deacons in our home!

To celebrate the milestone, after the ordination we had our family over for an ice-cream and brownie bar. It was delicious!

We got to visit,

and have yummy treats.

It was fun to see our Cedar City cousins again.

We are so blessed to have family so close! It was really special to have both Grandpas, several Uncles, our Bishop, an older cousin, and close friends participate in the ordination.

Thanks to all who came, both near and far!

We love and appreciate you all!

We did finally pull out his birthday gifts...I didn't have time to wrap them, but he didn't seem to mind. He received several things that he would need for his week-long scout camp which he left for the next morning.

And some spending money!

A few days after he returned from Scout camp we were able to take him out for his birthday dinner with Mom and Dad.

He chose Cafe Rio! It was delish!
