Swim Team and County Meet

Our two oldest trained and competed with our city swim team this summer. Waking up at 5:30 a.m. wasn't so fun, but competing well in the meets made it all worth it!

Our summer was pretty busy so it was a challenge to make our schedule work with the meet schedule.

To qualify for the county meet, a swimmer must swim a certain time and must also compete in at least two meets.

They competed in exactly two meets....

and both of them swam times fast enough for the gold county meet, the meet for the fastest swimmers.

This guy is our breaststroke specialist...he goes like lightning!

He also competed on the freestyle relay, along with 3 other fast swimmers.

The county meet was pretty intense. Our oldest competed in the backstroke...got off to a great start!

He finished fifth in the county.

He also competed in the 50 freestyle and the 50 breaststroke.

He finished 5th in the freestyle and 6th in the breaststroke.

We had some great seats on the upper level...and right next to the air conditioning.

Our second oldest competed in the 50 breaststroke and the 50 freestyle. He also swam a fast third leg in the 200 freestyle relay. He finished 5th in th 50 breaststroke, 12th in the 50 freestyle, and his relay team finished 3rd. It was a great meet!

This sign gave us a few good laughs!

The haul from the summer!
