4th of July Celebration

In our family, patriotism is a serious business! My husband has one sister in particular who loves the 4th of July, and actually the whole month of July. It is her favorite holiday of the year....I remember her saying that she has more 4th of July decor than she has Christmas decorations. Needless to say, we celebrate this holiday with a big party!

A quick perusal of the attendees will show our team spirit for the

good ol' US of A!

Red, white and blue BLING!

A work of art made with colored duct tape...a proud centerpiece!

And of course, the toenails....the best place to display what team you're on.

The hands down crowd favorite is Aunt Cristi's red, white, and blue chocolate covered popcorn. It is delicious...and addicting. It is always a challenge to the 4th of July party-goers to save room for bbq and not fill up on the popcorn!

This year hamburgers were on the menu...and they did not disappoint.

We played with all the cousins...

The hubby got in on the grillin'...

and even though the clouds were threatening rain, the kids decided to get wet in the sprinklers...a brain freeze is always the proper way to show your budding manhood!

Of course, the sprinkler under the tramp is the older cousin's way of getting wet.

We played,

we ate,

and we chatted up a storm. Happy 4th of July!
