Summer Games: Day One

Summer Games finally arrived.

We traveled down to Cedar City for the big competition.

After helping set up the range, the first match started.

It was the English match, an all prone competition.

The boys shot very well. Our oldest took bronze in the overall, while our second oldest was a close twenty points behind.

Dad kept a good watch with his scope. He just loves shooting matches!!!

The second match of the day was the Sporter Rifle. They are allowed to use a scope and must shoot in prone, sitting, and standing positions.

It was a pretty tough competition, especially when the wind picked up. Our oldest took silver in the overall.

The rest of us kept busy playing in the shade...

and eating popsicles.

The third (and last) match of the day was indoors. It was the air rifle competition.

This is our oldest's specialty. He was pretty excited when he found out that he won!! It was pretty tight, but he won the overall by a close 4 points.

Our second oldest also shot very, very well taking the gold medal in the sub-junior category!

Pizza at the end of the day was a real treat!
