Oh, Christmas Tree

December 4th is the day that we always decorate our Christmas tree. We always cut it down on November 30th (except for this year when we thought November 29th was the day....oops) and then we decorate it four days later. December 4th fell on Sunday this year.

Our ward starts at 1:00, so we spent the morning before church setting up our tree. Once again, I'm grateful for older children to help my hubby with the dirty, sappy work of bringing in the tree.

Thanks to a very generous Father-in-law, this year we will be spared any tree-falling-over drama! Check out this custom-made tree stand!

Our youngest was so excited to get out the boxes of Christmas decor. He had been asking me for months when he could play with the gingerbread house. Finally!

Checking the tree lights is an essential task...better done before the lights are on the tree than after.

This year our stockings found a handy hanging spot on "Larsen's t.v." We are watching our good friends' big screen t.v. for them until Christmas so that it can be a surprise in their house....more to come later.

It is always fun to pull out the Christmas books and read them...Aunt Cristi's pop-outs are a huge favorite.

We are ready for some reindeer to arrive!

Or at least Santa's helper!

Before long the older boys had to leave to go collect fast offerings, but not before putting on a couple of decorations.

Our oldest is in charge of the upper third of the tree...an easy reach for him nowadays.

It was a joy decorating the tree this year...especially since we only had to do it once and not four times!

We are ready for Christmas!
