Happy Thanksgiving

An original work of art:

Happy Turkey Day!!!

A Full Bed

We got back from our date the other night to an eerily quiet house.

We searched and finally found the reason for the silence!

And Another...

We have yet another precision rifle! My husband is the proud creator of another modified gun in his quest to make a gun to fit our second oldest. This gun has had the stock and barrel cut and shortened. It has also been refinished...and is the pride of our gun lover!

He was nervous to see how accurate it would be!

Tuesday night our second oldest used it to shoot a new high in prone!

A closer look! A 95 with 3 centers.

Father and Son are both beaming!

A Group Effort

Two days and countless hours later.....our freezer is full!! We have spent the last couple of days butchering the four deer that the boys got on their hunt in Wyoming.
Dad did the heavy work!

And then everyone pitched in here and there!

It was tough work, but everyone did their best!

And we are finally done!! Until next time.....

Girls' Getaway

This last weekend was another great weekend!! I headed up to SLC with my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law for a fantastic little get-away.

We enjoyed great speakers and inspirational music at TimeOut for Women.

We snuck up to Park City that night for a grand sleep-over and a late night gab session.

We woke up the next morning to find that winter has arrived!!

I can hardly wait for the next time all the girls get to run away!!

Losing Nails/ Half-Marathon

This past weekend we headed down to sunny St. George for a fun weekend with family and for the Snow Canyon Half Marathon. We had a great time and even got a little sun on our cheeks. I have been training specifically for this half for six weeks now and was really excited and felt pretty good about my preparation. The race started in Snow Canyon and ended just a block away from my husband's sister's house(I know they planned that just for us!). I had a great race, finishing 14th in the women's race in 1:35, a new P.R. for me!! The course was gorgeous, but I had no idea the pain that such a gorgeous course could inflict!!! The hills were torture, the dirt trails were sandy and slick, and by the time we ran through the black lava flow neighborhoods, my feet and legs were dying! It is now four days post race and I am finally able to walk normally. I crawled, yes crawled, down the stairs the night of the race. My husband offered to carry me, but having anyone even touch my quads hurt so bad! I won this cool hat for being a top 20 woman finisher.

I also came home with one more souvenir!

****Warning***** Gross toe pictures*** (Toes are gross anyway, but these pictures go beyond gross!!)

I almost always lose toenails after big races and this race was no different. The only difference was that I had a camera to capture the moment. The first picture is 10 minutes after finishing. The second picture is three days later.

I just love running!!

Good ol' Days

Remember the days when you were this cute?

Cute enough to get away with lots of stuff??

Like having popcorn for breakfast...

Or even better, licking the butter off the popcorn wrapper for a well-rounded meal!

Good times!!

Whitetail Hunt

I am late getting this up, but better late than never! Last week our two oldest headed out with their Dad to Wyoming on their first ever deer hunt (at least the first time they were the deer hunters). They had great weather and came home with several trophies.

Our second oldest got his first deer, a doe.

Our oldest took a very nice whitetail buck.

Dad also took a nice one!

The fun continued when they arrived home and got to show us their deer.

We spent a long time cleaning up, but they are already talking about next years' hunt!
These two want to join the fun! Are we old enough yet, Dad???
